Dry cleaning is an essential step for cleaning all those important and delicate clothes that can’t handle regular tough wash routines in your washing machine. However, with the frequency at which important and significant events keep showing up, you might as well set up a separate budget just to spare for the dry cleaners. However, did you know that dry cleaning is way easier than it seems? And by sparing a little extra time and effort for the clothes that need it, you could be saving up on your ridiculously priced laundry costs. Here’s a foolproof method to achieving laundry-cleaned results, at home.

STEP 1: Pick out which clothes really need to be dry cleaned first. You don’t want to waste so much effort on a garment that’s not worth it in the end!

We’re pretty sure that you know this already, but just to recap: you only need to dry clean (or in our case, use dry cleaning alternatives) for the special garments. The ones that are made out of extremely delicate fabrics and harsh washing at home is sure to knock the living daylights out of them. These include silks, wool, velvet or other such expensive clothing varieties. You also dry clean the important clothes, such as that important business suit or a pretty sequin gown that’s supposed to be worn at the party next week. Basically, if anything’s important and/or delicate, it needs the dry-clean treatment.

STEP 2: Stain Control 101

Stain removal is a dry-cleaning must. Since the garments in question are expensive and fragile, you need to be extra careful when dealing with stains. A great way to do that is by making a thick paste of baking soda and water and applying a thick coat of it over the stain. Follow the washing steps we’ve mentioned and voila — even you won’t be able to recall where exactly that stain was.

STEP 3: Store your woolens and silks in a mesh bag- dry cleaners’ top tip!

Mesh bags are a secret tool to give your clothes the dry cleaner’s touch. They’ve gotten their status for being highly anti-abrasion, and keep your delicate woolens and silks smooth and safe.

How to dry clean at home

STEP 4: Vinegar is your best friend.

Vinegar is your best friend because it helps you achieve the dry-cleaner’s finish. Clothes will come out shiny, and your soft clothes will emit a fresh and neutral scent, with an amazing shine like never before. Vinegar is a three in one product that will give you the perfect all-in-one dry cleaner’s finish, as well as increase your clothing’s sheen and make them appear good as new. The fact that it’s extremely inexpensive and readily available is just an added bonus.

STEP 5: Airy washing with a light detergent is everything.

Lastly, the biggest requirement of dry cleaning is washing and handling the garment with absolute care and gentleness. If you’d like to replicate the same feeling at home, your safest bet would be to opt for extremely light detergents that won’t eat on your fabric and leave a heavy finish on the product.

STEP 6 : Crisp ironing to top your hard work off with a crown.

Another one of the dry cleaners’ trademarks is their crisp ironing, even of the most gentle and delicate clothes. We’d otherwise tell you to refrain from doing it at home, but certain clothing items need to be ironed before wearing them. This can help give them a careful and crisp iron and hop into them — like you’d hop into any garment that’s been professionally washed — and not feel a difference at all!

When one thinks of yoga, it’s either of these two images that comes to our mind:

  1. A) A person meditating peacefully, feeling the air and the nature that surrounds them while having their eyes shut tight (y’know, the ‘easy’ kind)…

OR

  1. B) A yoga guru striking a complex pose that will for sure crack all of your bones if you attempt to do it.

Well, the fact is that yoga is actually much more diverse than that, and is composed of hundreds of different asanas that — regardless of how flexible you are — are only going to benefit you. There’s probably one type of yoga that you’re simply meant to do, but are missing out on it just because of your assumptions regarding how difficult or easy it is.

May we suggest that you Look through the list below to find out more about the eight major types of yoga… and, of course, take your pick as to which type suits you the best!

Vinyasa yoga

Vinyasa yoga is the kind of yoga that gets you moving your body. It involves you switching from one pose to the next in a sequential order in coordination with your breathing, almost as if you’re dancing. Flow and movement are the basic characteristics of this yoga form.

Power yoga

Power yoga has been gaining a lot of attention. This style, which is a hybrid of Vinyasa and Bikram yoga and also derives some inspiration from cardio routines, is super energetic and stamina-based. It allows you to burn those calories fast, as well as gain the benefits of traditional yoga.

Ashtanga yoga

Ashtanga literally means “8 limbs,” and boy does it make you move — even if you only have four of ‘em. This style is very similar to the other two styles, but what sets it apart is that while you’re carrying out the sequential order of a particular asana, you start out at a particular Sun Salutation A, and finish Sun Salutation B. This type is also super peaceful, the kind in which you feel at one with nature as you perform each asana, so that’s something you should keep in mind if you like playing music while exercising.

Iyengar yoga

Iyengar yoga is designed for the enthusiastic beginners, and the workout music lovers! This type allows you to get better suited to the asanas, encouraging a slower pace and the usage of props while exercising. Much like the other types of yoga, this one two involves a lot of sequential rhythms in each asana.

Bikram Yoga

Bikram yoga is a 90 minute yoga session which consists of 24 asanas and 2 breathing exercises, and it’s perfect for dedicated practitioners who are up for a long and fruitful session worth of peace of mind and body. This particular type also requires the room to be heated at 105° F, and the humidity levels to be controlled at 40%, in order to replicate the climate of its country of origin, India.

Jivamukti Yoga

This one’s for all the people who are intimidated by difficult asanas, and just want a chill yoga session for spiritual upliftment (paired with a couple of physical benefits, too). This type involves a lot of meditation, and a few easy and effective asanas, with each class or session having a different theme and set of asanas.

Sivananda Yoga

Shivananda yoga is a lifestyle, rather than a set of Asanas. It involves embracing a balanced diet, relaxation, meditation, exercise, as well as having a positive outlook of life in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. If you’re serious about the yoga life, this one’s exactly the pick for you.

So you’ve been itching for a new wardrobe but don’t particularly want to go the route of a shopping spree (and all that it entails). Or perhaps you do, but don’t necessarily have the means to support such bliss at the moment. Just the thought of budgeting may not seem all that exciting, but don’t allow it to snatch the wind from under your sails just yet. There’s hope! The beauty of improvising is that it can encourage us to be more creative. If you’re up for the challenge, these tips might be right up your alley. You’ll find that there are a few things that you can do to really make an impact in freshening up your wardrobe without burning holes in those cute little pockets of yours. Here’s one thing to keep in mind: “Fashion is what we buy, style is what we do with it.”

Make no mistake, our relationship with our clothes isn’t that different from our other relationships. Without spicing things up, we will eventually grow bored. But how is this achieved with clothes? By creating more outfits with the pieces that we already have. Seriously, go through your closet, pull out all those long forgotten pieces and show them some love. This brings us to the three R’s of fashion:

How to freshen your wardrobe without buying new things

Reduce:

  • Take care of your clothes: By taking care of your clothes, they’ll take care of you by giving you more use out of them.
  • Quality over quantity: It’s always worth spending a little extra on quality pieces, especially the staples. They’ll stand the test of time.
  • Trends are not our friend: Aim for high-quality, classic pieces that you can interchange and wear again and again.

Reuse:

  • Wear your clothes: Literally. Wear your clothes until the threads fall out. Getting the most use out of the clothes we already own helps curb our desire to spend.
  • Repair those tears: Get into the habit of taking your clothes and shoes in for alterations and repairs.

Recycle:

  • Donate: Donate what you don’t need, but remember, “If you wouldn’t give it away, throw it away.”
  • Upcycle: Put those DIY skills to the test and repurpose your old clothes. The possibilities are endless.
  • Sell online: Sell the clothes you’ll never wear. Why not

We all know that dreadful feeling of opening the closet, peering inside and standing there for what seems like hours, only to realize that there’s not a single thing you want to wear. As you flip through each hanger, you sink deeper into despair. How is this even possible? Given how much time and thought you put into your wardrobe, how did it ever come to this?! You’re convinced, that cute, cropped sweater that you wore all the time will soon be finding its new home in the donation bin. In fact, all of it will!

How to freshen your wardrobe without buying new things

Your mind starts drifting to the last time you bought something new, remembering how happy and carefree you felt from the second you slipped it on. At what point exactly does that feeling escape us? If only somehow we can preserve it. What if it were possible to trick our brain into seeing the “familiar” with a fresh set of eyes?

Get organized

If you can relate, it may be time to go shopping – in your closet! Just like any retailer, you’ll need to organize your merchandise. Pull out everything and organize it according to season, occasion and color. Your morning routine will thank you later.

Doesn’t fit? Get rid of it

There are few things worse than poorly fitting clothes. Go through every single piece that you own and make sure it fits properly. Get rid of what doesn’t work and tailor (or donate) the rest. No need for clutter.

Get creative

Go online for some inspiration. Mix patterns. Accessorize. Have fun! Not handy with a needle and thread? A good pair of scissors should suffice. A simple T-shirt can be redesigned a thousand ways. Fabric paints and dyes can also liven up boring clothing.

Opt for a new do

Perception is everything. Changing our hairstyle can give the same ole boring outfit a completely different look. Spending $60 dollars on a new hairstyle vs. $500 on a new wardrobe? Hmm. Pretty much the same result.

Swap your heart out

Swapping clothes with friends is a great way to bond. Why not?

Makeup magic!

Makeup is a whole mood. It’s as much of an accessory as bags and shoes; creating different looks and vibes in an instant.

For many of us, the problem isn’t exactly our wardrobe. We just somehow lost the ability to see its beauty.  By shifting our focus, our wardrobe can go from feeling limited to a world of possibility.

A little can go a long way when decorating your home and you don’t need to fork out a fortune to curate marvelous spaces in your abode with some of these cute ideas. With loads of inspiration to check out, you will have new ideas for creating dreamy settings and making the most of every inch of your home. So, without further ado, here are some gorgeous ways to decorate your home.

Put furniture in new places

One of the most simple tips for decorating your home that will form a beautiful foundation for your additional decor is finding the perfect place for your furniture. You may be happy with how everything looks at the moment but there is always room for improvement. Furthermore, furniture placement does wonders for your home’s feng shui, a concept outlining the best practices for organizing your home for optimal energy flow. In saying so, play around with the positions of your pieces and try to find something that works for you in a completely new way. Changing things up may spark some creative ideas that you had not previously thought of and even changing the position of a plant can elevate your living spaces. This leads us to our next tip.

Cute ways to decorate your home

Populate with plants

Plantlife is one of the most affordable and most stunning strategies for decorating your home that you can implement today. Head out to your nearest nursery and peruse the aisles laden with blossoming flora. You will find a wealth of fascinating floral pieces that could look fantastic next to your fireplace or draped over your bookshelf. From hanging plants to towering snake plants, the options are endless and extremely budget-friendly. Furthermore, a house populated with plants is a healthy one as many plants are trusted oxygen emitting companions that add life and vigor to our homes.

Recycle old glass

If you have glass jars lying around the kitchen, from pickles or coffee for example, you can repurpose these to make magical centerpieces for your tabletops. Whether you wish to fill your glass jars with flowers, pot plants in the center of them, or create a shell display for your bathroom, there are a myriad of ways to utilize old glass jars that will save you money in the process.

Display memento pieces

Vintage is totally in right now and you could add some elegant energy to your home by displaying your retro ancestral pieces. For example, a leather bag formerly owned by a grandparent can be a beautiful piece to display on top of your wardrobe while also serving as a neat extra storage spot for warm sweaters and hoodies. Furthermore, old greyscale family photos can make for an added talking point when you have guests if you frame them beautifully and find ideal spots to position them around your rooms.

Curate by decluttering

Rather than adding stuff to your home to decorate it, you can begin taking things away. By decluttering your home, you can create space for new things as well as clear up eye-sore areas that would otherwise detract from your overall look and feel. Sometimes decorating a cute home is as simple as tossing out the junk.

Get down with a decor swap

If you’ve got old pieces that you think a friend might like then don’t get rid of them before asking. Who knows, your friend may be willing to go in on a swap deal, which means you each get something you like for free. This is a great way to bring some new flavor into your home while providing your friends with the same opportunity.

Welcome to online shopping, a platform that has virtually brought buyers and sellers together. At the press of a button, the buyer is able to close a deal with the seller regardless of the distance and other logistical factors between them. Out of many popular goods sold online, shoes seem to be one of the most preferred commodities. However, not every transaction involving ordering shoes online ends well for everyone. Here is everything that can go wrong when ordering shoes online and how to avoid serious mistakes when doing so.

Going for the Wrong Size

Everything That Can Go Wrong When Ordering Shoes Online and How to Avoid Costly Mistakes When Doing So

Some buyers are not sure about their shoe sizes. For that reason, they may end up making an online order for the wrong size of the shoes. The package can arrive with a pair of shoes that are either larger or smaller in size compared to the customer’s feet.

Such costly mistakes do happen when someone is enticed by the image displayed online rather than taking the time to check the features and specifications of the product in question. Sometimes images of shoes can be deceiving, making the buyer choose the wrong product in the process.

To avoid such mistakes, the online buyer should be aware of the size of shoes on display and the size of his/her feet. The buyer should also confirm what he/she is about to purchase to avoid last-minute disappointments. After all, buying a product online needs a lot of courage and trust between the seller and the new buyer.

Not Comparing Prices From Different Sellers

Everything That Can Go Wrong When Ordering Shoes Online and How to Avoid Costly Mistakes When Doing So

Another costly mistake that online buyers make when ordering shoes is failing to compare prices from different sellers. Perhaps they do so because they are always in a rush to select a particular brand of shoes before someone takes up everything. But this is not a valid reason as to why a serious buyer shouldn’t compare price-tags from one seller to another.

The best way of achieving this goal is by visiting different sites to get at least a glimpse of the latest price of the products they want to purchase and compare it with the cost of the same commodity on the site where they first spotted it. This way, buyers will choose carefully where to spend their money.

Failure to Read and Understand the Return/Refund Policies

Everything That Can Go Wrong When Ordering Shoes Online and How to Avoid Costly Mistakes When Doing So

Sadly, most online shoe buyers don’t bother reading and understanding the return or refund policies prior to purchasing this common product. Some are not even aware of the return policies let alone taking their time to familiarize themselves with this very important piece of information. Lack of understanding the return or refund policy of some lead to costly mistakes when buying products online.

It is important to have an idea of what the return policy entails. For instance, serious online buyers need to know what grace period they have before returning the shoes if they are damaged or not what they had ordered. Knowledge of the product return policy should be the first thing an online buyer must have before making any online transaction.

Buying shoes online is both convenient and a great way of accessing high-quality products in the comfort of your home. But things can get complicated when you make a wrong move while transacting with your online seller. To avoid making any costly mistakes, you must understand all the processes involved when ordering shoes or any other product online.

There’s nothing better than pulling out a cleaned batch of laundry that gives off a natural and fresh scent and is also nice and smooth and soft to the touch. It’s a far-fetched thought for the layman though, since all we get is the harsh and strong, chemically smell of your detergent, and coarse laundry that’s all frizzy and dry. You might think that the fresh and fruity scent and the velvety touch is only achievable with the help of artificial products like laundry softeners and scented detergents (which often only do more harm than good to your clothes in the long run), but don’t you fret! We’ve got some 100% natural options up our sleeves to give you the sweet smelling laundry, that’s amazing to the touch, too.

Vinegar removes the nasty odors from your clothes that make you gag, and make them squeaky-soft to the touch too.

After reading this tip, we can guarantee that vinegar will become your laundry bestie in no time. Vinegar has the natural ability to soften your clothes, as well as rid them of any unpleasant smells that’s making them stink the way they are. Another huge advantage for using vinegar while washing your clothes is that it’s also a natural disinfectant. This makes it a handy and must-have option whenever you pick out those rags that you clean your dishes with, or a toddler’s clothes that you want to be super soft — as well as free of any germs that may harm them.

Wool dryer balls will remove the static energy from your clothes (and make them super bouncy!).

Wool dryer balls are an underrated laundry drying, as well as softening, option. This is because their fancy counterparts dryer sheets are more visible in stores, leading to them being overlooked. However, these fluffy little orbs are not just great for your kitty, they’re the long lasting, all-in-one deal for your laundry needs. A dryer ball will last you for at least 1000 uses. (That’s like, just shy of three whole years, even if used on a daily basis!) Scent them up with some natural essential oils to get the faintest fresh whiff of lovely scent each time you fold up your clothes.

How to naturally freshen and soften your laundry

Essential oils: yes, you can use them to scent up your laundry too!

Essential oils are the laundry scenting deal breakers. Extremely light and soothing, these will leave your clothes smelling fresh and outstanding, while also not causing any skin irritation that other laundry scenting products do. Lavender and rose are our top picks, but feel free to use any scent that pleases you.

Make a natural laundry scent booster using just two readily available ingredients.

Like we mentioned, laundry scent boosters come in at a pricy cost, and are often harmful for your skin and can trigger allergies. We’ve got an all-natural replacement for chemical scent boosters, and all you’ll need to make it is just some Epsom salt and a few drops of essential oils. Mix these two ingredients in and store it in a jar, ready for your use during any wash!

Baking soda will remove every unpleasant odor from your laundry in just a couple of washes.

Well, let’s face it… everyone hates that nasty smell that your wet clothes give off when they’re left undried during the rainy season. If that terrible stench makes you sick, we’ve got an easy solution for you to make breathing in the same air (in which those sad wet clothes hang, yuck) bearable. Each time you pop them in for a wash, prepare a semi-thick baking soda slurry and pour it over your clothes, and toss some into the machine, too. Your clothes will come out smelling oh-so-neutral, and the stench? It’ll never be heard of again.

A pair of white sneakers are a staple piece of attire necessary to pull together so many looks on the fly, coupled with the fact that a good pair is extremely comfortable for those busy days and incredibly versatile in the way it can be paired with tops and pants. That said, keeping those new shiny white sneakers sparkly clean is quite an endeavor. Over time, sticky soles and dirty marks can ruin a pair of white sneakers quicker than it took them to be delivered and they can be relegated to the back of your closet before you’ve even had a chance to break them in. But, cleaning white sneakers doesn’t have to be a nightmare with these simple hacks!

Bleach for the win

Believe it or not, your tub of bleach could be your best friend in keeping your white sneakers in tip-top shape for years to come. Alas, this technique is somewhat tricky and requires attention to details, but it is arguably one of the best methods of keeping those kicks crisp. You’ll need to dilute your bleach, using only a five to one ratio of water to bleach is an ideal solution to cleaning your sneakers. To do the cleaning, you’ll need an old toothbrush for the best effect as it will allow you to be precise in your approach when tackling the dirty shoes. Rinse off your sneakers with warm water once you are done and let them sit overnight. You’ll wake up to a fresh pair void of any unwanted yellow stains.

Baking soda prevails

A little less drastic than the powerful bleach method, baking soda provides a safer alternative for cleaning your white sneakers that will minimize potential damage to your shoes. Your solution will consist of baking soda, hot water, and vinegar, mixing one tablespoon of each until a paste has formed. Again, you’ll need an old toothbrush to apply the paste to your shoes, gently covering the exterior using a circular motion with the brush. Once your shoes are fully covered with the paste, let them sit outside in the sun for three hours before shaking off the crusty solution and wiping them down with a warm, wet cloth.

Toothpaste may be your best bet

While the trusted toothbrush is one of the best pieces of shoe-cleaning equipment you’ll need to get the job done, toothpaste itself can be a go-to solution to whitening your sneakers. After all, toothpaste is an exceptionally versatile product used in many ways beyond simply cleaning one’s teeth. For this trick, you’ll need white toothpaste that is not a gel as the gel can be abrasive to the sneaker’s materials. Lather some paste on your brush and get to work on your kicks, lightly covering them in a thin layer of paste from toe to heel. Allow your shoes some time to sit in the paste, a few minutes or so, before using a warm, wet towel to rub off the solution. This process can be repeated for greater effect and if your shoes are not completely white by the time you are done the first round.

These are a few unconventional methods for turning your dusty sneakers into a pair of crisp, white ones, far from any recommendations someone in your local store may provide. While they may not be fool-proof and repeated attempts are sometimes necessary for producing a flawless white sheen, they can be a great starting point for cleaning your sneakers. Furthermore, you do not have to limit yourself to one method so give them all a shot in your pursuit of keeping your white sneakers spotless.

As special and magical weddings are, it’s undeniable that they’re maddeningly hectic, stressful and most importantly? They’re wallet drainingIf you’ve ever been the part of the insider squad in any wedding, you’re bound to notice how much cash goes missing for stuff that nobody even asked for or remembers, or for things that were completely useless for the wedding. Yet still, the hosts still broke the bank trying to afford it. Now, we know how much value this day holds in everybody’s hearts, but does it really have to be, y’know… that expensive? Weddings can be just as expensive-looking and phenomenal without literally going broke trying to achieve the wedding of your dreams. That’s why we’ve collected a couple of sneaky ways for you to save some money on your wedding — without your guests even getting a hint about it!

The wedding invitations that will save the date and some cash

We’re all for the fancy-schmancy laser-cut gold-accented wedding invitation cards, but as fairytale-like they look, their pricing will make you recall a horror movie. Decent to expensive looking wedding cards can cost you $700 to even $3000, and all they’ll end up being is a relative’s tea coaster or a child’s scrapbook addition for school. You could always go for cheaper invitations, but they probably won’t replicate the feel that you want for your wedding. Instead, try going for a wedding website! Most domain names will only cost you $10-$15 per year, and you can either design your website for free or at dirt cheap prices on websites like WordPress and Wix. Even better, they have all your desired design elements. All you need to do is simply direct all your guests to it! You’ll be saving up on invitation (as well as postage costs!), and your guests will be wowed by the new and unconventional invitation too.

Hire your photographer friend at mates-rates…

…and end up not having to pay them at all! Friends, we’re kidding on that one. We’re frugal, not monsters. However, a professional wedding photographer often charges a $2,500 minimum for a full day. If you really want to cut costs on that one, you can try booking out an up and coming photographer to do the job for you. Most newbie photographers are pretty good at their craft, and hiring them will not only save you some money, it’ll also allow them to build their portfolio and gain some experience. Just make sure that you look at their work and make sure that they have enough experience in handling such events before signing them up for the task.

How to save money on your wedding without any for your guests noticing

Keep it local

If you’re really adaptable and trying to be thrifty this wedding season, let us tell you this: there can’t be a wedding more magical than one in your own backyard. You’ll be able to invite all of the people you want to attend your wedding without spending a dime on venue costs. Yay for saving up on transportation costs as well! Additionally, hire local caterers and decorators that you’re familiar with to get good food and a stunning venue at cheaper prices. Most unknown caterers and decorators in a distant location will at least charge around $4000, but your local uncles will do that in half the budget (or even less for you)! If you don’t have the largest backyard, or really want to book a venue, we’ve got a tip for you there too. Choose the wedding day wisely. Plants are essential to human survival. Whether it’s the oxygen they provide, the vegetables and fruit, or the flavor they add to meals, we just cannot live without them. And sometimes you may want to grow your own plants. Growing your own plants can be therapeutic and rewarding, but it’s not always easy. Some plants may require constant TLC while others can just be very finicky. If you struggle with keeping plants alive or are a first-time grower, why not check out the list below of some of the easiest and most resilient plants to grow.

Pansies

While they look bright and colorful, these plants are some of the hardiest plants out there and can be tough to do away with. In fact, in most regions of the US, these plants can survive even severe winter conditions. They grow best when planted between August to October but they will be fine if you plant them in early spring. They are easy to plant, either from seeds or as fully grown plants from any gardening store and require very little maintenance. They are an easy and simple way to brighten up your garden and make you feel proud and accomplished.

Tomatoes

Tomatoes are one of the most versatile fruits out there. These fruits can be used in almost all areas of cooking, from sauces to salads. And it may also surprise you to know that they are pretty easy to grow and maintain as well. All you need is some good, strong sunlight and nutrient-rich soil. If you don’t have access to sunlight, a grow-light will work just fine. Make sure you give them plenty of water and you’ll be serving up fresh salsa and salad in no time.

Sunflowers

Sunflowers are fantastic as, aside from being beautiful and bright, they also produce delicious seeds which are a great and healthy snack or can be used to add that extra crunch to your next salad. They can thrive in almost any type of soil and can survive through most droughts. As the name implies, sunflowers require a good amount of sun. Just make sure you don’t plant them in front of other plants as they can grow quite large and potentially block the other plants from getting enough sun.

Mint

Most people agree that there is no better smell or flavor than that of fresh mint. And growing this versatile herb is not as hard as one would think. In fact, it grows so well, sometimes the challenge is to stop it from overrunning your garden. To prevent this from happening, you need to plant mint in a clay pot or vessel to stop the roots from escaping. Throw in some damp soil and make sure that it doesn’t get too much sun exposure and voila! Fresh mint that can be used to season almost any dish.

Spinach

A rich source of iron and many other vitamins, spinach is a wonderful addition to salads or as a side dish. This leafy green vegetable is not difficult to grow and doesn’t require that much effort. It’s also convenient because you can harvest it at any time, depending on the size you want, making this the obvious choice when starting your own vegetable patch.

Potatoes

As a staple food for most of the world’s population, potatoes are an obvious choice to grow. And they are quite simple too. You don’t even need seeds, all you need is a potato with a few buds and open bottom baskets. simply plant your budding potatoes and make sure it gets water. Just be careful to not overwater it, and in just a couple of weeks you’ll be serving up your own, homemade French fries.

Wedding days are infamous for being absolutely chaotic, especially from the “behind the scenes” perspective. While the chatter and banter that goes on is quite fun and endearing — and is part of the reason why weddings are remembered and stories are shared at the end of the day — nobody wants to end up in a bridezilla situation. So keeping all those fun and memorable moments aside for you to treasure, here are some ways you can make sure that you save the date, without making a total mess out of everything and stressing out on this super important day. Make sure that you can look back on your wedding day fondly (instead of cringing with embarrassment for inviting your jealous ex over to the party unexpectedly!).

Pre-order your dress, suit, bridesmaids’ gowns (you know the deal!).

Pre-ordering your outfits will not only save you the extra stress of forgetting anything important, it will also save you some good cash, too. We recommend pre-ordering your dress at least six months before your wedding day, to leave some nice wiggle room for unexpected alterations. Additionally, it’ll also save you some money, since you won’t have to pay any rush fee and additional alteration fees, as well.

Speaking of the jealous exes, make sure that you have the guest list ready at least two months prior to the wedding.

You don’t want unexpected, unwanted (and nasty!) people showing up on the wedding day. Sit down with your partner and make the guest list, making sure to pare it down (depending on whether you want a smaller or larger scale wedding). Also, make sure that you aren’t offending someone important by not inviting them. Keep the guest list handy-dandy at all times.

Have a designated driver or transportation organizer.

Transportation is one of those underrated aspects of a wedding ceremony that gets overlooked for going terribly haywire hours before a wedding. This is especially true when your wedding destination is a little far away from where you’ve checked in for the week. And if you’re relying on cab drivers, the amount of confusion that is created is unthinkable, as some people get dropped off too late, or to entirely different locations altogether. Make sure that you have some trusty designated drivers for the day, or someone taking charge of the transportation to make sure that everything goes super smooth. Also, make sure that if you do have a designated driver, they don’t parktake too much in the festivities. You don’t want an accident ruining the special day!

If you’re a scatterbrain, hiring a wedding planner will save you your sanity (and some cash, sometimes!).

It’s undeniable: the stress that comes from weddings gets to the most organized of us. If everything that’s going on around is stressing the heck out of you, it might be time to hire a wedding planner. Professional wedding planners? Well, calling them life-savers would be an understatement. These behind-the-scenes masterminds will fix all the mess that you’ve created, and sail your wedding ship through the rough franken-wedding storm. Despite coming on the pricier end of the spectrum, there’s nothing better than a great wedding planner if you can afford their services.

Choose outdoor venues wisely, and always have a backup plan!

Outdoor venues, despite being absolutely breathtaking, come with their own set of drawbacks, and the weather is the biggest one of ‘em. Raining on the wedding day, and your outdoor venue is all ruined? That’s one of the most common wedding-day disasters, and the unpredictability of the weather seems to always slip out of everyone’s minds while wedding planning. Make sure to either have a backup plan, or avoid the outdoor scene altogether.
