I have a confession to make, I am complete addicted to coffee and energy drinks. Ever since I stopped breastfeeding, I usually start my morning with a skinny caramel macchiato and end it with a Monster energy drink. Now I know you’re going to tell me that much caffeine is bad for me, I am sorry but I don’t care.
Before you judge me, there are a few things to consider. My daughter is seven months old and still not sleeping through the night. That is SEVEN months of sleepless nights, I think I deserve to drink whatever I want! I have no other vices, I don’t do drugs, I don’t smoke and I don’t drink alcohol (that often). So if caffeine is the worst habit I have, I can live with that and feel no guilt.
I just think of it this way, I am a better mom when I am alert and I have energy to play with my kids. So really it would be doing my kids a great disservice if I gave it up. Nothing starts my day better than feeling that warm coffee in my hand and smelling the fresh coffee beans with a hint of caramel. When I hit a wall everyday around 3 pm, nothing gets me going again like an energy drink. I am not recommending this to everyone, it is just what works for me. Don’t worry, I won’t continue this forever but right now this is how I am keeping my sanity and surviving each day.
